Corporate History
P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd. first began building cleaning operations in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1954, owned by J.M. LaBossiere, as a proprietorship, operating under the name of P.M.L. Services.
It was incorporated in 1962 under the name of P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd.
In 1970 majority control of Action Maintenance Limited, another janitorial contracting business, was purchased by P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd..
In 1970, Paul J. LaBossiere and David T. LaBossiere purchased 48% of the shares of the parent firm, P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd.
The sanitary supply sales division was separated in 1971 and incorporated as Five-L Equipment Ltd., a wholesaler of sanitary supplies, paper goods and maintenance equipment.
In 1975 all the remaining shares of Action Maintenance Limited were purchased by P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd..
In 1980 the contracts of Action Maintenance Limited were rolled into P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd. The charter of Action Maintenance Limited was changed, and it began to operate as Project-L Ventures. This entity did lease financing, I.D. card assembly and other financial projects. In 1979 Action Maintenance Limited purchased Select Home Realty, a Manitoba residential real estate business.
In 1985, P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd. established an office in Regina, Saskatchewan. This location grew until it employed 35-40 staff. With a change of government, and pending labour law revision, the decision was made to sell the Saskatchewan operation in 1995.
Currently the LaBossiere family fully own and operate P.M.L. Maintenance Ltd. and, Five-L Equipment Ltd.
